BATTERSEA POWER STATION (2014)
after many years in the unloved wilderness the once popular icon made more famous by Rock group Pink Floyd when they featured the four tall chim chimeney building landmark on their 'animals' album cover is phoenix like, rising from the ashes to assume iconic status once more. But not only will the huge brick built power station be restored to former glory in a lengthy painstaking and very expensive makeover the area it inhabits will also change dramatically as new apartment blocks spring up but only those whose income minimum is around 50k will be able to afford them. Overseas investors, particularly from the far east see investing in London property a relatively safe investment. It's a sad fact that very few of the thousands of new builds in and around London are affordable to the people that keep London ticking over as a vibrant and important world city. The short term profits may prove disastrous in the long term for those seeking to make a financial killing
