one of London's more popular skyscrapers received with praise from the public and armchair architecture critics. The Gherkin was completed on the last month of 2003 and opened officially in 2004. Reading a little of the online blurb about this curvy tinted shades of blue glass tower it was originally called the Swiss Re building which is not a particularly memorable name which would explain why everyone knows it as the Gherkin building. It is located within the city of London's Square Mile area at 30 St Mary Axe and its designers Norman Foster and Arup
